HRE FF15 for M240i
Looking to buy a new set of wheels for summer tires. I've heard that the HRE flow form wheels may need spacers to fit flush?
Also, are the HRE flow form wheels worth the premium over flow formed wheels from Apex (e.g. EC-7) or VMR (e.g. V804). Concerned with the longevity of those wheels, but also concerned that with HRE I'd just be paying for the name considering the wheels aren't forged. Edit: Additionally, feel free to pitch in recommendations on where to buy the wheels. HRE wants $300 to ship them to Minnesota, which seems a bit exorbitant. Check out BBS too. I went round and round on wheels, this 2 series is a bitch to fit. If you want poke in the back, VMR delivers. Apex may need spacers up front. I'm not sure what sizes the FF15's come in. HRE is top shelf, I love their forged line but not crazy about the FF15's, kinda has an Alpina feel with all those spokes. I've got some BBS CH-R's on order, I like a mesh design and the sizes for this car.
Spend some time researching, sleep on your decision once you get there. Nothing like buyer's remorse on high ticket stuff. Good luck! |

I spoke to a rep at HRE and he recommended 19x8.5ET40 in the front and 19x9ET44 in the rear. I appreciate the low weight (22.2lb front, 20.8lb rear). The BBS wheels that I've looked at seem to be quite a bit heavier, but maybe I haven't looked hard enough. ~$600 per wheel seems reasonable, but $300 shipping still has me scratching my head a bit.
Do people here usually order direct through manufacturer, or are there trusted 3rd party places to look at? I wouldn't mind buying a wheel+tire combo, either. |

EDIT: Just realized that the Turner Motorsport site says these wheels don't fit the M235i xDrive either. This is really proving to be a PITA. Not sure why HRE said they will fit, going to call them and my service advisor again tomorrow. Last edited by JamesTabletop; 04-07-2018 at 01:30 AM.. |

I plan on running those wheels at some point too. I'm going to stick with 18" square setup though.

What made you decide to stay with 18" square set up? |

I love the way my car handles and don't want to spend 4k to make it handle worse. But that's just IMO.
