highspeed cornering improvements?
what are the best things to do to your car to handle better while cornering at high speeds?
- sway bar? - strut brace? - wider wheel stance --> spacers? - lowering the car --> coilovers, shocks? what else? and what would be the most beneficial or have the greatest impact? |

What sort of high speeds? What sort of corners? Changing the camber might help. Adding wing.

Switching to a coupe from a convertible will also help
The higher the speeds get the more the car overstreers (or understeeres less). So you want to balance the car out for the speeds and it's not a matter of just upgrading the equipment but also properly tuning to get most out of it.

The question is too vague...there are different kinds of turns, and different solution to make the car handle better in each type. Also, you need to define handle better. the simple answer is usually to just have better tires, these have the most impact. Next would be to remove excess weight...remove things you don't need...remove that golf set if you are not really going to play.
Stiffer sway bars are not always the answer, as I have seen cars that improve handling by removing sway bars. Stiffer springs or suspension is not always the answer as well, because if you are cornering in an undulating curve, then you need the compliance of soft springs. This is why suspension tuning is very difficult, and also why BMW to me are great cars, as they come from the factory already with great handling on a wide variety of roads. If you have something more specific like, I would like to reduce understeer or oversteer, or I would like to have a more controllable rear...then I think we can come up with a more specific solution.

Long time no Tx.. Maybe the OP is searching for methods to reduce body roll?? Just playing devil's advocate here. After driving a co-workers C5 Vette the other day, the body roll in my car seems enormous..

I'd agree with what others have said - your question is fairly vague and we'd need more details to give you the "best" solution(s).
That being said, without question TIRES are the first change I'd recommend (non-RF). I found the difference between the RF's and Michelin PS2 (non-RF) to be significant. Depending on whether or not you already have the "sport suspension", and whether or not your application is primarily aggressive street / freeway driving OR tracking the car, I'd consider suspension (springs & dampers *shocks*) and finally sway bars. I've replaced the stock suspension on my Xi with KW coilovers (which also lower the car considerably) and the difference in handling is nothing short of incredible. The stock Xi suspension is far too soft (for my liking) and didn't inspire confidence when pushing the car hard. If you still require further tuning (after tires, springs & dampers), I'd look into aftermarket sway bars. Depending on how your springs / dampers are set, you can then attempt to dial out/in any understeer/oversteer as required.
