Dead Bulb Indicator on Dash, which program to identify? INPA?
Trying to figure out which bulb is throwing a warning light on my dash but I can't figure it out. I already had my brother look around the car while I turned everything on and he said it was all fine. As I understand it, some bulbs cannot be tested at a standstill & even then the car may throw a warning light because it detected a voltage difference on a bulb that's still working, but on it's way out.
Actually, come to think of it, I was randomly getting this warning before but it would go away after restarting the car. Today it hasn't gone away though. Can I run diagnostics in INPA or another program in order to identify the bulb that has failed? Or is there another way? I don't have nav. |

Use your BC stalk on the left hand side to scroll to the warning screen then select the fault and hold the bc button till the cc-id comes up. You can then search the number and it will tell you exactly what bulb it is.

INPA will give you a description that won't help that much. Specificity is sometimes lost in the German to English translation. The most common mystery bulb failure is the side marker in the outer edge of the headlight assembly (not sure if LCI has that). Go out in the dark and compare sides.

The one I dread is the H8 for the angel eyes. I did the right side last year, so far left hasn't failed yet. That one I cut up my hand and got blood all over the place--the key is mentally or physically noting the position of the bulb PRIOR to undoing--because there is too little room to feel around, I spent like 30 min. trying to screw the new bulb in....was very shocked lol (how hard is it to screw in a lightbulb) |

I used the BC stalk method and pulled up CCID 117, which is supposedly the left reverse light (921 bulb). My warning light has since gone away though I'll order some replacements in the mean time. Thanks for the input |
