To wrap or not to wrap?

I'm 70/30% decided on fully wrapping my incoming MG M2 in Xpel stealth, giving it that matte look. I'm still trying to find the perfect installer, and I also am not 100% convinced because I haven't seen a stealth wrapped M2 in person. In the pictures, it looks great. Badass and stealth. Can anyone confirm that the MG stealth wrapped looks better than the OEM MG in person?

Should I do it?

Personally, I don't like matte look on cars. So I voted against the wrap.

I was contemplating the same thing just a month ago.

This is what the installer showed me - because they use the templates some gaps aren?t fully covered by the wrap - for instance near the wing mirrors or door handles. They are covered by a few separate pieces. With tiny gaps between them.

And the template also provides cutouts around emblems like the M2 side emblem. Small gaps that aren?t noticeable with the gloss but would stand out with a matte wrap.

You will also see areas under the bonnet and the door jambs? that will reveal its original glossy look.

The only way to get the full matte look would be akin to a full color change wrap. Removing door panels and all the emblems and stuff. And then wrapping the car and cutting by hand. Not using the templates.

You?ll have to decide if you are comfortable doing that on a brand new car.

There are multiple types of wraps. Some are just for paint protection and others are more cosmetic. It is a personally preference whether you are ready for a change.

It's an interesting look, but not one I'd want semi-permanently.

If it was me, I'd have to see a sample first. Some colors look great with a matte finish, others not so much.

Unless you're modding it a ton, I wouldn't do it. I don't like matte MG at all if the car is otherwise stock but YMMV.

^ Agreed, with your lack of a lot of mods, I don't really think the satin MG looks very good without a bunch of carbon fibers bits and maybe even a wing. Would go with the normal gloss and save a few thousand as well ^_^

NO regrets.
And TONS of people talk to me at pumps and parking lots to tell me how cool it looks. Love how it looks and so glad I did it. And in five years I can pull it off and have pristene paint.

Are there any areas of the car uncovered? How much did you pay?

I personally don't like matte. I have 2 cars that are wrapped in my garage right next to each other. Matte just doesn't do it for me.
