If you are going to go with some of the cheap Dynavin clones
this one gets the most attention. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1378752 It should also be pointed out that if you have the L7 amplifier and speaker system the only thing compatible with that amp is the dynavin N6 with the Dynavin L7 amp adapter sold only by dynavin with the N6. There is a stereo sub forum at the link above. |

Have been looking at the same unit after the dension I installed recently seems to be faulty and is going to be returned. What it looks like this is just the updated version with the latest android on it for the price I'd say worth a try.

I was looking at the GA7165S as it’s an Octa core but I don’t think it will make a big difference in performance and I prefer having the latest android on the Ga8165.
But please do let us know how it goes ! |

Hardware wise GA7165 and GA8165 are the same however the latter one has the latest android nougat as opposed to marshmallow not sure if there is any internal changes but as per paper they're the same quadcore with 2GB of ram the GA7165S however is using android marshmallow again has an octacore often referred as the PX5 processor and 2GB of ram also I think 32GB rom instead of 16. I will probably order the GA8165 soon as I prefer the newer android also Octacore doesn't mean double the power these processors are usually 2 quadcores one low power to save energy for apps that don't need it and one higher powered quadcore to use for high power apps like games etc. so I don't see any benefit in the Octacore and prefer having the latest software. Once my return of the Dension is through I'll go ahead and order the Eonon GA8165 I will also see what can be done to make the AC control to sit a bit more flush looking at the holding bracket I'm sure something can be done maybe even use my 3d printer to print a new holder. Quick edit: After double checking the specs it looks like the GA7165S is a quadcore after all I'm confused now but then I looked at many hu's yesterday nevertheless the GA8165 seems superior at the moment. Another edit: The GA7165A is the octacore with android 6 hardware wise this is the best choice softwarewise it would be GA8165 Last edited by nils_92; 09-21-2017 at 04:15 AM.. |

If you have a MOIST (fiber optic) connection, you will blow codes if you unplug the radio.

Got it installed all plug and play really sound quality does not seem to be much of a difference compared to the Prof. radio need to tweak the EQ a bit it show all the warnings door open etc.
Boot up is very quick as well as starting Google maps I will now go ahead and install Sygic and Spotify later on and see how it performs over the coming days but so far I'm happy for what I got. I did not run a constant power wire yet as there is no place on the harness it seems Eonon built something that save the last settings and comes back with that straight after boot. Any questions in particular let me know I'm also still tinkering with it need to park somewhere nearer to my house so I can download all the maps via Wi-Fi. |

So do the AC controls under it stick out some? looks like they kinda jut out a bit at the bottom.

I recommend you install a new rom from XDA on that unit.
These Chinese companies slap together a build that's 'good enough' to ship. I'd install a rom made by a passionate developer instead. https://forum.xda-developers.com/and...evice-t3598908 Malaysk's rom seems to be more stable and feature rich in terms of overall user experience. I just got the same octa-core unit (for my VW) which I'll be installing this weekend. |

It does stick out a bit but you don't really notice unless you know to say at least is girlfriend proof :P.
I was looking at the rom as well before I got the unit I'm currently looking into a cheap data plan so I don't have to tether my phone as I got Sygic and Spotify on it now. Also I will run a permanent wire to the battery just for convenience it will keep settings but the time will be put of date once you turn it on so best would be a wire to permanent plus and that in return will allow it to start in less than a second as well. |

Did your car not have the extra row/3 buttons under the AC area or did you just relocate or?
Your AC controls look identical to mine, but I have a little row underneath for heated seats and descent control. Not my car pictured but same idea...

No I did not have them since I do not have any heated seats or buttons that could go in there however these buttons can be relocated in the ashtray there is a kit for that.

The radio is supposed to be able to replicate those controls in the UI.

Correct I found these controls on the UI but have no use for them.
I want to run a permanent wire to prevent the unit from a cold boot every 30 mins when the car goes to sleep not necessary but more a personal preference EDIT: I found Sygic voice instructions very low however this can be fixed by going to Settings -> Factory Settings (Password:126)-> Voice---> I set Sys to 18 and radio a little lower to 9 then apply and exit and the issue is solved.
