My 2010 6MT Slick Top M-Sport
After selling our beloved '07 TiAg 335i 6MT(with Sport/Prem/Cold/CA packages) 3 years ago, we finally got another E90.
This time we decided on a 328i(3/4 of you just clicked "back" ). I don't have a budget to repair/replace turbo[s], and don't want to deal with replacing water pumps every 50k, and inevitable HPFP replacements. That said, we were still open to a 335i, if the perfect one popped up. Being pretty picky, and needing a car ASAP, the options were slim-to-none. It HAD to be a 6 speed, HAD to be a sport, and COULDNT have gray interior. We really wanted prem and cold weather, but it wasn't an absolute must. Came across this '10 328i 6MT M-Sport, and it only had 40k miles! It was a color we loved- Space Grey- and had the interior we also love- Saddle Brown. However, it wasn't equipped much past that. I got off work early, and we took a 3hr trip up to Seattle to purchase it. It was virtually flawless. When we were on our test drive, I looked up to admire the Anthracite headliner- ?!#%?! IT DOESNT HAVE A SUNROOF?!?!. My wife was definitely disappointed, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. Less roof weight= lower COG, and a solid roof means more rigidity- so its all good. It got me wondering though- is it common for the m-sport's to have no sunroof? I also was disappointed to find out that the base model(BMW "professional") stereo completely sucks, and it's not pre-wired for Bluetooth. Coming from the 335i with Logic7, this was a major bummer. I have a few questions that I would love if you guys could help me out with. Does anyone here happen to know about retrofitting power folders to a non-prem car? I've looked up as many threads on it as I can find, and can't find info on wiring. If I get the passenger door harness for a power folder car, will I still have to do more wiring to the footwell module? Also wondering if I can use my shadowline m-sport mirror base, and retrofit in the motor(s) from a standard model LCI power folder. I'd hate to have to find m-sport/shadowline power folders 😬 Lastly, it has the USB package, and has the MULF2 module with BT logo in the trunk, yet doesn't seem to be pre-wired for Bluetooth- am I missing something? Thanks for reading, and I'm so damn happy to be back in an E90! I'm making my own PE clone muffler this week, so hopefully that goes well. I wish I could access this forum on Tapatalk- going to another site to host images is annoying! Thanks for reading, and thanks for any help! Last edited by TylerJamesInc; 09-17-2017 at 04:14 PM.. |

Funny - I just sold my 2010 328i M-Sport 6MT without sunroof.
Like yours, it was fairly base model after that. The stereo sucked. I bought a Tune2Air Bluetooth adapter to play music, but there was no phone/calling connectivity. Loved the car, very lightweight (3260lbs) and fun to drive.

Congrats on the slicktop, while I love my gigantic panoramic sunroof there's no doubt it's heavy as hell, and every time I throw it into a corner I can feel the weight throwing the top of the car around!

Nice car! 2010 was the beginning of the de-contending, so yeah if you didn't spec the option you didn't get it or the wiring.
Ctuna has some great suggestions. |
