Bluetooth ready or no bluetooth
Ok please dont beat me up to bad.
From what ive researched most if not all 3 series were bluetooth ready but not all have bluetooth. Ive tried everything to get bluetooth working. I have controls on steering wheel, on radio (it even shows "tel volume" , vented trim on celing and shark fin on roof and amp in back. No BT module that I can see but I did find a plug right next to amp looking all ready to be plugged in somewhere. My question for you all is do all I have to do is buy a module and plug it in? I dont want to make it a huge process but if its as easy as buying the module and getting BT i would love the convenience of this. Thanks for your help in advance |

If you have the SOS/Assist button in the overhead, you should have BT.
If you have "phone" in the radio display when you hit menu, same. The buttons on the steering wheel are on all cars, BT or not. |

Bluetooth is controlled by a combox or tcu under the trunk floor. You have the professional deck so you will not hav streaming, only phone capabilities.

the socket near amplifier is for cd-changer preparation
check trunk subfloor under rear backrest, you may find bluetooth module or preparation for it

Use one of the free BMW Vin checkers online to printout which
options your car came with . The buttons on the wheel mean nothing they all come with them even if the options for them aren't installed. The silver box you have pictured is the amp the bluetooth support modules is in a different area of the trunk . Like they said TCU, Mulf or combox . See TCU in the following document I think its on page 36. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 No streaming music with a pro radio no matter if you have a combox or not. You might have bluetooth phone and usb though. http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...3&d=1169133185 Last edited by ctuna; 09-17-2017 at 01:40 AM.. |

I could be wrong but in my e90 the hook up is not where the amp is. If you fold down rear seats the you can lift up trunk carpet in back and there should be wire harness in the to connect BT module. as some have stated it only is capable of phone calls, not audio.
I very well could be wrong but that's what it looks like in my vehicle |
