S65 Spark Plug Issue

So I've spent the past hour trying to remove the drivers side spark plug that's in the confined space.... Can someone please share a method?

Do you have the coil puller tool from Amazon?

Edit: the coil pack or spark plug itself.

I was able to remove the coil using the coat hanger method, having trouble removing the plug itself.

I start by placing the 5/8 spark plug socket w/ a 3 inch extension through the hole and on the spark plug by itself. Then when i connect my ratchet to the extension, I seem to loose grip on the plug and I have no leverage to loosen it - hope that makes sense..

Not sure of your skill level/tools on hand, but if you run down to your local auto parts store you can probably pickup a cheap universal joint and extension that will allow you to get a better angle and more leverage on the spark plug removal socket. I use this combination plus what you are already using when removing the more difficult to reach spark plugs. This combination allows you to push down further onto the spark plug so that the spark plug socket seats properly.

This will do the trick, looks exactly like what I use when I do my plugs.

For the plugs closest to the firewall i doubt you will want that 3 inch extension added between the ratchet and universal joint, as the joint itself should add enough height out of the tube. The extra extension will just run you into obstructions.

I would not use an impact driver on something as fragile as a spark plug in an aluminum head.

Was only removing it. Went back on by hand. I got the proper tools to do the job now so it won't happen anymore.

Just get two 2 or 3" extensions...plus your deep well spark socket. Combine the 1st extension + socket and slip that down your spark plug well. The top should be visible from the hole and then snap your 2nd spark plug extension to this assembly and you should be good to go. Then on removal....pull the 2nd extension out ....and then grab the remaining assembly out. Doing it this way should allow you enough room to navigate the hose and wiring in the surrounding area.
