New to E90 world, not bmw's though.

Hey folks! I'm new to the e90 world and just got my first one Monday. 2007 328i with 98k, one owner, nav, Bluetooth, heated seats. Have plans for tint, wheels and maybe mild lowering since it's my daily. I have searched a weird issue I'm having and tried everything and isn't working. My driver rear window will randomly not go up, it will move a hair and go right back down. I tried re-calibrating from the rear button, front button, cleaning window of debris, using lubricant to make sure nothing is stuck and nothing. I do not get a warning or anything so I'm curious if this could be a control module that needs a reset? Thanks in advance.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome! If you dont mind me asking, how much did you purchase the car for?

I bought mine with the same issue, the dealer initially tried to "reprogram" or fix it electrically but ended up resolving the issue by replacing the window motor and regulator.

OP, congrats on the new car. So the best process to follow with E90s is to get a BMW-specific scan tool. There are several to choose from. The Coding section can help you here. But with a BMW scan tool, almost any fault with any system in the car has a trouble code associated with it. And a BMW scan tool will allow you to test most systems, and does include the windows. It sounds like the pinch activation is acting up from some reason.

Also, get the Bentley service manual.

The problem you have is the window regulator.
And also good looking car.

Very nice cars; I especially like the color on the E36...sets it apart in a classy way. Welcome to the E90 family, too.

I had the same issue with a non-OEM window regulator. Get OEM and avoid the risk.

If you get tint remember to get a tint protector. Tested it on my 09 328i driver door and it definitely got scratched w/o it.

Welcome! Nice cars, the E30 is my favorite. 1991 E30 318i was my first BMW.

Nice!

My aftermarket rear regulator (the all metal one from amazon) seems very smooth, but does the same thing- if I let it down any, I have to take it all the way to the bottom, then it will go up fine. They are so finicky.

Congrats on the e90! Be budgeting for waterpump and thermostat- everything else will normally give you some warning when it wants attention.

Seems like regulators in these E90's is common.
