JB4 Problems
Has anybody experienced any problems using their jb4? I use to have an f series 335i with a jb4 and BMS intake and when I would do 20 pulls in 1st gear my car would lag on the shift and I never knew what it could be at the time. When I picked up my m235i, I met somebody who told me my problem was that the jb4 and the BMS intake don't go together to well and that the jb4s are frying cars. My guy at the BMW service center told me he has seen n55 f series come in completely fried. Also Apex Autowerks recommended I stay away from the jb4. Some people I've talked to who have the jb4 on and are doing fine saying they're having no problems and the jb4 is making the car a beast. Just want to know, does anybody know how to avoid these problems from happening and what I can do to avoid them. I want to use the jb4 so bad but not seiz my car lol.

make sure you have the latest firmware and are using a obd connection to jb4.
Check all connections and make sure they are secure. Thousands of cars on JB4, including mine. It is a piggyback tune, pretty hard to fry anything unless you mess up install or modify a custom map way off baseline. |

^^ What he said. Also, the latest JB4 firmware deletes the MAF which would cause hiccups with an aftermarket intake, so I'd rule that out as being th eproblem if you're running the latest version of firmware..
