Winter Tyre's UK - Anyone getting some?

Hi all,

Is anyone considering getting winter Tyre's for their G30 with or without Alloys?

For my current F10 i have separate winter treys and alloys. Which i am looking to sell too if anyone you know may be interested.

Would you know where the best place may be to get them and deal wise?

Not sure about asking the dealer yet

Thanks

Same here. I've got the 664M wheels and I want another set with winters on. What you looking for Rambo? Maybe we could double up to get a deal?

Not sure yet mate i am debating. Up here in the north east we have been lucky because we are closer to the coast and have missed the snow.

But not sure what to do. I would need to see what they are going at.

But yeah mate im sure if we double up and get two sets they may come up with something.

For my F10 i managed to get the tyres and alloys for just under 1k that was done at deal time though.

I have the mrs car for the winter if need be but a set of winters would be good.

Have you seen any around?

Might be worth you asking when you go collect yours see what they say.

I will do the same and see if we get the same information from them?

I normally get them stored by BMW and get them to fit do you recommend anything else? as £120 storage and then fitting half way through is a bit expensive i think?

Check this config out: http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/ow...re-config.html

Yeah will chat when o collect. But I suspect the best bet will be to let people upgrade their wheels to the 20s or other some such and flog their 19s on eBay.

3 on eBay (one black). Region of £1500 with summers on. Added to the tyre prices and knocking off a bit for flogging the summers maybe £2400 ish total. Quite steep.

Yeah mate quite steep that like. Also these new ones will need to have the valve for the tyre pressure sensor otherwise it will think there is a flat tyre all the time. Which will be a pain.

Not sure if i will just go down to 17" for my winters. If i did i think i could keep the tyres i currently have on the alloys but need to buy the rims with the tyre pressure system in?

been searching the web and not too much on the G30 yet for winter wheels and tyres.

What your thoughts?

I just feel cheated that 6 months of the year I won't have my proper wheels on. I'd rather fork for the staggered 19s and absorb the cost over time (in my mind).

I did that for the 330d lease and didn't regret it.

hmmmm ok mate i get where your coming from.

I will be keeping this one till the next model comes out so that would be 7 years time but that does not mean the interim refresh i would change.

So over that period then it would possibly work out. did you say they had a black pair too?

Also if i keep my 19 rims you think they would just change the tyre over or not? if 19 are going on for winter?

Think I just bagged a set with summers on for £1300. Apparently pristine with delivery mileage only.

Flips. Just checked mytyres - fronts are about £280 and rears are about £430!!

Also only Pirelli seem to do both sizes.

Over in the continent what tyres do the winter 19s come with??

Danm mate thats not too bad but those tyres come with those special gages you need for tyre pressure?

you apparently need to have special tyres now too for compliance in winter. more so on the continent but i think that came about a couple years ago.

Where you fine the ones for £1300? dealer or ebay?

So there were some on eBay and I worked out it was from a dealer so I called up the dealer and we did a deal.

Brand new summers cost in the region of £200-250 so the way I figure it I've got the 19" wheels for about £400 max.

They have the right tpms sensors since they've come off a brand new g30.

Might just watch the market for the staggered 19" winters and see if anyone other then Pirelli come with some. I had the sottozero for my f31 and wasn't too impressed. But with x drive on top might be ok. Got about 6 months to get them I figure.

Yeah Zigmund that does sound good. You got the x-drive too which is beneficial but i might even risk it and see if it snows or not this year as last couple years we have got lucky especially living closer to the coast.

I might just ask about them when i go into the dealers see what they can do and take it from there. Need to get rid of the ones for my F10 first.

Yeah I actually didn't even speak to my dealer. But doubt they'll do set of winters for less than £2k...

I've had near misses with awd without winters with ice so not gonna risk that again... the rear pirellis don't have the BMW star so not sure if they'll be ok.

Yeah well i got the ones for my f10 for 1k with the tyres on and they retailed for £1800 so i scored there.

i have emailed them asking how much a set of 18s and 19s will cost on winters.

Also i have asked if i could transfer my current tyres onto some alloys and how much that would cost

Waiting for them to get back to me.

Will let you know what they say

Good luck for tomorrow mate and try and get some sleep

Keep us updated RamboUK as I live right on the edge of the Peak District so will definitely be needing some winters one way or another with RWD!

Hi all,

I have just had feedback from the dealer:

Non run flat winter 17" wheels and tyres V spoke 631 £1,992 including vat.

18,s about another £500.

I asked about putting my tyres on to just a set of rims and he said that would be more.

WTF for real.

He said they have about 5% margin on these more so a handling cost.

I said to him that i got mine just for 1K for my F10 how come they so much, he really didnt have an answer.

Anyone else got any prices or someone trustworthy as a supplier or dealer?

Thanks

Mate I'd just call a few dealers and get some rims separately and get winters separately online. Means you need to do changeovers yourself but hey ho.

I'm gonna put in my order for the Pirelli 19s soon.

Anyone want a set of summers with delivery mileage?

Btw does anyone actually have winter rft tyres on their 19" staggered wheels? The only ones I can find are the Pirelli and they don't have the Bmw star mark on the rear...
