Looking to arrange a group buy
Hi,
I'm new so I hope I'm not going about this the wrong way but, I'm looking to get a combox and a backup camera, I don't really want to go the cheap way because I have a 6mt 328i and I don't want to splice so I came across bimmer tech and bimmerfest I think they're called. Bimmertech combox and backup cam will run you over 1200 I'm wonder if is possible to arrange a group buy and maybe contact the vendor, maybe if enough people buy we can get a decent discount because all they offer. Is is 5% and that's not low enough to make me want to upgrade, my car was made 2 months before they started adding combox. Thanks for your time hope this works. |

I don't think you'll have much luck but putting "back up camera" in your title might help.

Thanks for response, I'm not that handy I have a friend that is, but those vendors seem like no splicing and easier to do, I've ready the 130 back up camera and combox do it yourself and those seem difficult well the combox seems more harder and then coding is required, I'm not trying to be incompetent I have read alot of forums about this and this is my first post I made and also my first bmw.

The only thing hindering you from doing this is if you do not have any tools in your possession. $1200 is overkill for this.

@pichadis11 I mean my friend has installed audio before maybe he can give the back up camera a shot but I'm not sure about the combox and I know I can get someone to do the coding I've been reading up on things and trying to find an alternative that won't break on me down the road, I just keep thinking bimmer tech stuff might work better than the diy but I'll give it a shot and see if my friend an do the back up camera.

Surely you can find someone local to help you on this. This is such an easy job and you're paying over 3x more than necessary.
Post in the CT regional sub forum and see if someone steps up to the plate. Good luck

i went to a local audio shop and after trying tell this guy, i can buy the parts and he can install the camera and the come box and ill get it remotely coded but hes telling me it cant me done and if he was to do the back up camera it would cost me 400 to install, that sounds crazy i do have a friend that can install the back up camera, but i don't have pdc and i have looked if you can do the diy without having pdc and it says you need pdc.
