Does the left exhasut flap ever open at all in my M235i?

Just wanted to ask whether it's normal that - in those modes where the exhaust left pipe flap should be opened (DSC off, Sport+) - the right exhaust is still noticeably louder? In fact, I switched the modes and listened carefully to the pipes, but it's still the right one that emits the low-note burble; nothing similar is ever audible with the left pipe...

It's possible that the flap system - even when opened - changes the character of exhaust note so that the left pipe will never be as loud as the right one, but I 'd like to know for sure as it's also possible the Service did sth wrong when installing the MP tails with intermediate pipes lately.

You can see the flap in the left side if you look in it. You'll be able to tell its open or closed. I've got the MPE on my car and I don't think I've ever gotten down to listen to which side is louder or not. I suppose the mere presence of the flap on one side, even when open, but not the other could cause it to sound different.

Do some spirited driving in one of those modes then get out and look in, it should be open, if it is then unplug it and just leave it open all the time :-)

I can hear mine open and feel exhaust coming out a few minutes after I start the car just leaving it in comfort mode.

It must close though at some point because I've noticed driving in a lot of snow that the left pipe will get packed with snow like that pipe isn't open. The right pipe is also much blacker than the left if I don't wash the car for a couple weeks.

Did this the first chance I got. Make sure you wrap some electrical tape around the wiring harness plug and flap portion to keep the elements out.
