Can't you do that with the button right under the Start/Stop button?

Morello, sorry, if you turn off auto/start stop with the toggle it stays that way forever. If you done banging your head please explain why you need to code for it.

Hello mate. I think he wants to do that permanently.
I undestand him cuz I gonna have over 300hp petrol car and it has autostartstop.. I live in big city and it will be annoying.

I never had a car with it but during test drive I discovered if you turn it off u must do it after killing the engine again and also after changing drive mode (thats really really stupid I think..)

If it is off, it stays off until you turn it back on. In Sport Mode, it is automatically disabled (off). Very simple. Turn you car off with auto stop off, when you turn your car back on, auto stop will be off. NO NEED TO CODE ANYTHING. Bmw has been this way for years.

Are you sure ? Because the 4er I've test driven autoturned it on after I killed engine/changed mode, I am 100% sure. The car was 2015.

My dealer told me that they used to block it for customers because of this.. but about 1-2 years ago BMW released new codes and didn't give it to them so they can't block it anymore (officialy).

Why should they did it then ? Mb new models has this option like u said ?
To be honest I haven't tested it in G30.

btw my brothers 2015 Merc has the same autostartstop behavior as I wrote above..

Edit : I have found czech article about it : since about 2012 bmw allowed permanent autostartstop turning off by pushing as button but only in the USA..

That could be it, I live in America. If it can be kept off here, then maybe you do have to code it in another country. You would think that is standard across the line.

I feel sorry for you and still didnt get why USA has not the full digital dash, really stupid move of bmw. Or is that "not yet?" (As for example g30 individual etc..) In Cze the 4er facelift cant have hud + digital dash until july or a bit later (my dealer told me) but the 4er fl is possible to order since Feb..

Imho G30 full digital > full analog(not exist) > half digital

With Hud, I don't even look at my dash. I know everyone is up in arm about this, but it is really no big deal.

US, from factory, are set to remember ASS settings.

ECE, from factory, must be coded to remember or be default off. And, the coding is different than found in Fxx-series BMW's.

And, because of Dieselgate, dealerships can no longer disable. Plus, BMW's have advanced telematics that can broadcast coding changes.

do BMW do anything if yhey spot any changes?
I have made several changes on mine and nothing has been said as to my knowledge am not aware of anyone else who has coded being 'caught'.
Is this a new procedures now?

as regards stop start in the UK when I enquired about this with BMW UK when I got my F10 they said that whilst possible to disable they would have to advise government as tax rates and duty would have to be changed as it would not be as fuel friendly.

At least with BMW the disable button is right next to the start/stop button, so you can switch the engine on and disable ASS in one fluid movement. I guess I should be grateful for small mercies.

However it is permanent in UK at least in G30. Immediately you switch off the engine or change driving modes the default setting kicks in: Auto Start/Stop becomes active.

The argument about road tax is probably correct as it only costs £30.00/year to tax G30 520D currently (if registered before April)

Not here in Finland.

It depends on the dealership as well as what coding changes are made.

Any examples? Curious what action was taken.
They may of course update the firmware as a matter of course which will wipe out any changes made but other than that?

Not all data is transmitted. There are set protocols (details which I do not have) for what data is collected &/or transmitted.

If you are doing things like removing legal disclaimers or adding tire pressure & temperature, then less likely to run into issues.

If you override settings implemented to meet emission standards or mess with parameters affecting drivetrain, engine, or chassis, then dealership can void warranties and not cover repairs.

Auto Start Stop Coding Off

Can anyone in Southern California code the auto start stop to retain last user mode so it's stays off permanently like it did in the F10 and the 2017 G30? I will compensate fairly. Thanks!
