E92 Corner yellow light delete success! (finally) UPDATE w/ PICS
Thanks to alex310, mattscott, and stevemondragon for the DIY/tips.
So while doing this DIY for an E92, I was stuck on trying to find and tap the sidemarker for the passenger side. I didn't have a jack so taking the wheel off and the fender liner off was out of the question, and for the life of me I couldn't find the wire in the engine bay for the passenger side. This thing so far has taken me 3 hours! So, out of sheer frustration and desperation, I took off this rubber grommet in the engine bay and stuck my clothes hanger in there and suddenly I felt an opening! So I shoved it in as far as I could and lo and behold I felt the hanger from the sidemarker area. I stuck my finger into the sidemarker hole and when I caught the hanger I was SOOO . From there, I just taped on that piece of wire the best I could (I wasn't going to lose this) and very GENTLY pulled it through. The wire comes out right next to the headlight housing so soldering the connection was a breeze. I found very convenient places so that you don't have to drill any holes to ground or mount the load equalizers too. I highly recommend anyone to try this mod. The hardest part was just finding the wires and soldering the connections is painless. I honestly began panicking a little when I couldn't find the passenger side sidemarker wire to tap - wasted 3 hours. But, it makes your car look 10000x better at night so it was def worth it (a very unique mod too). Now the amber lights on e92's look as bad as the yellow reflectors that everyone replaces (I JUST replaced mine thanks to Bavarian X). I purchased 25 watt LED load equalizers for $12.99 a pair, excess wires, crimps, and nuts and bolts. I do electrical work as a hobby on guitars and amps so I had to purchase some stuff in bulk because I didn't feel like going to a hardware store. I spent like $30 so I have enough to do like 10 more cars . Yes, I'll take pictures tonight, but sadly they'll be from my iphone. I get my dslr back tomorrow since I let my friend borrow it for a wedding, so I'll def put up all the pictures including all the locations asap. UPDATE: Better pics and diagram My engine bay and where I placed everything Two convenient holes on the left side. Just use a nut and short bolt to ground both the equalizers This is where I routed the wire to tap the passenger side sidemarker. I took the rubber grommet off and stuck a hanger in through there to reach the sidemarker. Once I got the wire, I fed it through and took it out form the hole lying above it. Where I routed all the wires. Excuse the conspicuous white wires - I'll replace them later when I don't feel lazy. This is where I tapped the wire coming from the driver's side sidemarker. It's always going to be a blue/yellow wire. Convenient clips that run along the front of the car for me to route the ground wire coming from the driver's side. This is where I jammed in my driver's side equalizer. Fit's very snugly and hasn't come loose. This is where I tucked in my passenger side's equalizer. No yellow! yeah...as stevemondragon suggested i checked out the autozone that had the resistors and i thought they were going to be the 60w ones, but they happened to be 25w. no fancy heatsinks...just ceramic. not bad. no flaws - though they appear to be super cheapy. oh well, it was only 12.99.
