Valet Key

With no valet key for my new 2008 328xi, how do I prevent a service technician from accessing my navigation system or my phone book via the I-Drive?

they can access your navigation but not your phone book.

whats the big deal with them seeing your navigation. Do you not trust BMW?

i forgot that i had one and it's been sitting int he glove compartmnet since day one. don't even know how to use it

I dont think you can "lock" your nav....but then again I don't have one so im not 100% sure.

There were no changes in the valet key for 2008 from earlier years (or from 2007 either for that matter).

Regardless of the presence or absence of the valet key (you have one)... what does the valet key have to do iDrive?

Most people use the valet key every day since it´s built into the main fobs.
