Pre Painted Bumper Cover?

Considering purchasing this rear bumper cover on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2006-200...3D161988245810

I've heard complaints about the paint quality on pre-painted parts, but never ordered them myself, so I can't speak from experience. Anybody have some insight on whether this is worth the money?

Prepainted is never a good idea. Especially for an older car that has faded paint. The paint code you give them may match the factory paint when it was new but not your current shade.

You will probably want to repaint. Thats if it arrives with a good paint match. But if youre on a budget, you can try your luck.

I have bought a pre-painted rear spoiler and it has been great but I bought a front lip which has been terrible because it chips very easily. So I definitely advise against it. You'll save money by buying it pre-painted and you'll be pleased when the color matches well when it arrives but in the long run, it'll look like shit eventually.

A) thanks as always for your input, including your YT videos!
B) I'm guessing OP could potentially get a pre-painted part and get it coated too to help against chips, as another option.

I know nothing about paint, but maybe if it's not primed correctly, then an extra overcoat wouldn't even help?

Thanks for the input everybody. I figured it seemed too good to be true, and also a little gimmicky

I bought a front prepainted BSM bumper from eBay. I've been very satisfied for the 250 I paid for it. I had to perform minor paint correction but fitment was perfect.

Paint correction upon arrival, or after it was already installed on the car? Can you provide a link for the product? (250 is a better price than the one I found.)

Upon arrival. I have a porter cable 7424 that I compounded some of the paint with. Link is tough to get on my phone but the seller is paint n ship.
