Right boys this is my what is happening in the land of M40CCA at moment

Wife is ready to drop in 3 weeks time and the plan was to get her a new car to be able to take 2 car seats as we already have a 2 year old and room for my 8 yr old when I have her on a weekend. I have another daughter who is 13 but at the moment she's either at the gym or out with her friends so it's very rare I will have all 4 at the same time

I have the opportunity to have a new van at work (caddy, fiesta) to run around and see clients in, also will keep the mileage down on my 335d or now was the perfect time to hunt for a m3

My plan now was to forget about getting her a new car and the £200+ a month I'll save will definitely get me in a m3 Give the 335d (m3) to the Mrs to run about in through the week and it would be still there for me weekends and after work, and run the van through the week it doesn't bother me that I'll be in a van because the majority of my clients are all in West Yorkshire as this is my area, any longer journeys I have to do training, trade shows etc I can use one of the other cars at work or go in my mine

My problem now from today is we have just picked up our twin pushchair from the shop and it doesn't fit in the boot of the 335d!! Which means it won't in the m3

Do I trade the 335d in for a 340/335d touring and in a years time my oldest boy will be three and there shouldn't be any need for the extra platform of the pushchair so it will just become a single pushchair which will fit in the boot of a M3

Do I just go ahead and get her a new car so everything fits in hers and I don't need to worry about getting rid of mine just yet

Or do I look elsewhere (Porsche, RR, X5) for something a nice size live with that for a few years then back to something sports/quick when kids are a little bit older

What do you think boys ??

Theres only a 530d at moment suppose there is the 540 xdrive

The only thing I didn't really want to buy brand new if I didn't have to because my plan is not to keep it that long if I go down that route and I'll lose a fortune as usual

We had a E91 3 series touring when kids were little, it was brilliant for carrying pushchairs, shopping, nappies etc
We still have v fond memories of that car. Was one of the best car buying decisions we made!

Tough one! Do you mind saying what the combined car payment limit is? Then there may be other options we could come up with :-)

340i Touring for me. Very versatile. Or even the 4GC which gives the best of both worlds.

Not my decision though

I pay £599/mth at moment so plus £200 we were going to pay on her car and around £58/mth car insurance we would be saving on the Mrs current policy

So around £800

That £800 per month and 10k deposit on a new 4 pot diesel RR Velar, you know it makes sense, just look at the touch screen!

Get yourself to Farnells at Guiseley before they all go.

Buy the M3, spec out the M3 with the money you were gonna spend on her car, and make the kids walk....

£1300 for a bloody pushchair WTF

You could have bought 2 Jeremy Kyle Style pushchairs from the local Chavvy Kid suppliers for a tenner and both would have fitted into the boot of an M3 no problem still leaving you £1290 for fuel - didn't think it through dude !!!

Failing that you drive around in the M3 and give the mrs the van.

Then get the snip
