Rear Diffuser Install
I'm hoping to install my M Performance replica rear diffuser tonight.
As far as I'm aware, I just unbolt the original one and reuse the same bolts to attach the new one. Does anyone have a more detailed guide or any pics of underneath the car showing what I need to unbolt? |

It's very obvious what you have to unbolt when you look under it.
What I will recommend is filing off the moulding lip along the top of the diffuser so you can get the top clips in properly, you could do with one of those semi circular files to file down the curved bits nicely. When you fit it get the middle clips in properly before trying to clip the ends in, as this will straighten the diffuser and make it long enough to reach. |

I may have to give in and buy the MP active exhaust too. Waiting on dealership to confirm if old one can be refitted when I change cars.... |

I agree that filing the lip and any excess plastic from the molding process. I used a half round file. It only took me about 15 mins to swap out. Mine had about 1/4 inch of play side to side so starting in the middle is a good way to get it centered so it fits right on both ends.

That was a complete waste of time and money. The lip doesn't fit. Massive gaps each side. Need to return it at my cost now and look at getting the OEM diffuser.
Can anyone do a better price than £270 for it? |

Don't have it fitted anymore. Couldn't even get all the bolts to line up.
Got the original one back on now but the reflectors don't seem to sit as flush as they did. Do you just need to spend more time fiddling with it to get them to sit right? |

You can fit it and you won't even notice gaps on either side as these too small but your choice mate |

I fitted my diffuser today, the £86 Kitt Tuning one from ebay. Appears identical to what I've seen of the DM Autoteile ones (made of polypropylene in Taiwan). A nightmare to fit though, had to file down the top edge as suggested by Teaston (thanks for that).
It's not quite wide enough as a few have said. There's a 4mm gap either side which I can live with for now. However the finish is very smooth and looks good so for the money its not bad. May still buy a genuine one though..... |

Sorry to hear that I bought one from dm-autoteile and the fit was very good, I didn't even file anything on it. They must be getting some from a different supplier.

I know how you feel Bianchi Dave. Mines not a great fit either. It remains on for now but still niggling me. Don't fancy getting another non genuine with same issue. Tempted to stick with original diffuser as performance one is quite subtle mod anyway.
