Creaking Steering Wheel Plastics

I find the M Sport steering wheel on my F32 quite creaky and plasticky, more so when turning the wheel when you tend to lean on the bottom silver piece. I assume this is common and therefore wondered whether anyone has tried to resolve it, either by some form of spray (silicone) or if the trim is removable, then maybe pad it out?

Any suggestions please?

Thanks!

Never had a problem, and I can't see how you would (or would need to) 'lean' on the steering wheel at all.

When I say lean, I mean my hands touching that part of the steering wheel as I'm turning it. Even if I gently push on the plastics when stationary it creaks!

Mine creaks when I press the silver part down. Did annoy me a little when I got the car but I don't know if I was expecting too much?

I don't really touch it while driving though so I haven't bothered doing anything to it. I'd assume it can be removed quite easily so shouldn't be too hard to fix.

I could see how it goes, but at the same time I thought if there was an easy solution, then I may as well give it a shot. It's the first time I've ever had an issue with creaking plastics on the steering wheel and definitely doesn't feel as robust as the older M Sport steering wheel I have in the X3.

Not noticed it on mine but I only ever touch the leather part really, and obviously the control buttons.

Silicone spray is used by many to stop creaks, I had my s/wheel replaced under warranty & must say it was 90% better.

Replaced due to noise or some other issue?
It looks like Silicone spray will be my first port of call. Cheers

It was replaced due to stitching come apart also no matter what I cleaned it with it always felt sticky if held for a few seconds.
