I picked up mine 4 days after landing in Port Kembla. Dealer can request a priority clearance if they want.

The wait gets harder and harder! Docked yesterday. There is some kind of summer festival sales going on with the dealer and they simply don't give a shit to those who paid for their car. .. Hunting new customers...

That's just average... and what dealer generally quote.

I know you're desperate for your car as most new car buyers are... but at the end of the day it's down to dealer size, port (how busy/quickly they clear cars) and ultimately luck.

From memory they quoted me 10-14 days and it arrived pretty early that I wasn't even in sydney

Keep us updated. My wife's X3 is on the ship at the moment and we were told approximately 10 working days from port to dealer and then another day or two for their pre-delivery. I'm just going to assume a couple of weeks all up once it lands in WA.

Now back to tracking that ship..

This is correct. It means it's still at the port and hasn't been moved to the Prixcar depot.

To give you an idea: mine was discharged 21/07, picked up by Prixcar on 26/07, sat in the Prixcar depot in NSW till 03/08, arrived at Prixcar in VIC on 04/08, 05/08 it went to the SMG pre-delivery facility and then I finally got it on the 11/08!

Prixcar is the transport company BMW use (and I suspect most manufacturers given the size of their lots)

I bought my car just after it was loaded on the boat, so it was already destined to be unloaded at the port in Wollongong, NSW and couldn't be changed.

I love how excited you're that you're following every stage. lol

Alot of things can happen there... If you ordered tinting via BMW, then it's probably being done there.

Alot of new cars also get damaged during shipping (mainly paint from sea water) so it might just be getting a quick detail before delivery.

Thanks for the updates. Our car got discharged at the port early hours of this morning. So going to assume a couple of weeks from now. Not long when it's been 2.5 months I guess!

Well an update:
- Car arrived at port on 18th March
- Went to Prixcar depot on 20th March
- Got to dealer 28th March
- Had delivery this morning (1st April)

Wife is loving the X3. Only thing is when we got home, noticed that they've screwed the rear numberplate on slightly crooked which is now bugging me. Will ask them to fix it on Monday, although not sure what that means with regards to drilling new holes...will go and unscrew it later and have a look.

So all up, about 3 months to deliver?
When did you order?

I’ve never bought a new car before, but ordered my M240i in March, but it will be at least August before it is delivered. Don’t know if that’s normal or not.

I placed the deposit on the 30th of March, but build didn’t commence until the first week of June. Over two months before they could even find a slot in the line.

The anticipation is obviously killing me.
