I'm thinking Vinyl wrapping the interior trim on my E90 PFL

this is the current setup... Sorry for the crappy night cellphone pics...

Now im thinking some DIY vinyl wrapping... but can not really decide on the colors... I like piano black for the dashboard/door handles trim, but steering wheel and center console maybe matte black. Or all matte? or all glossy? What do you think?

Orange color also crossed my mind for dashboard and door handles, to go nicely with the orange BMW LEDs on the dashboard, but im affraid it would come out too tacky.

Any suggestions, or preferably pictures with an all black interior, but with options like mentioned above? Changing the upholstery to be in line with vinyl is not really an option cause of the price (only thing i could do is steering wheel stitching, since i plan on re-doing it anyways soon).

Your current trim actually isn't bad. I did the gloss black. I think it may be weird to mix gloss and matte.
Here's my thread with the gloss black:

Thanks for Your reply... i think i will be bold enough to try something on my own. I will probably get a piece of glossy vinyl and do the door handles trim, just to get the jist of it... then we will see about the central console and dashboard

I did my interior in carbon fibre and I was really pleased with the results. patience is the key to getting a good finish when vinyl wrapping.

Carbon is not really my cup of tea, but good to know the results can be pleasing, even for a 1st timer :-)

I like the idea of gloss trim with matte console and wheel. It's what I plan on doing. That or suede fabric instead of gloss black. Saw a 1M and the alcantra looked so nice.
I have a gloss black center console right now and it is hard to keep clean. I think matte would work better on the center console and steering wheel.

I would only wrap steering wheel trim into matt black ( matt black with alum. trim on sides OR all matt black )

See my interior pics what i mean.

I'm redoing mine soon and I am going to spray mine Sparkling Graphite to match the car, but no laquer as I want it to have a matt/brushed finish, rather than glossy
