If you want a sunroof in a bmw m2
If you want a sunroof in a BMW M2, BMWNA will have to hear from more people, I was told when I asked for the 3rd in a row it could cost a lot of money to produce a USA spec'ed M2 with a sunroof for just 1 person. The person I have talked to for 3 years in a row, said she has not heard any other request wanting a sunroof in the m2, althought Canada in 2016 did not offer a sunroof and 2017 did offer a sunroof. Since they are produced on the same production line, I do not thiink it would cost millions of dollars or impossible to produce a BMW M2 with a sunroof.
So if you do want a sunroof, write bmw customer relations to show there is enough people who want a sunroof at either 1-800-831-1117 or via email at customerrelations@bmwusa.com. I know there are enthusiasts who do not ever want to see a sunroof on an M2 but I believe there is more than just me, they are available in every country except the USA. Please be respectfull, only enthisiasts who want a sunroof in the MY 2018 M2 who want a sunroof as an option for the car, not a standard option, please respond, I would like to forward this to BMWNA, no reason for enthisasts who do not want a sunroof to reply. Also it wont hurt the value of your car than a friend down the street who paid $1200-$2000 for a sunroof, you just dont select the radio button on the build you BMW for a sunroof and you haev the car you want. You should not feel that all BMW M2 has to go without a sunroof or it somehow reduces the value of you car or what ever you argument maybe, please leave this post for people who want one to post they do Thanks |

The audience here may be slightly skewed towards the no-sunroof option, so be mindful of that.
What blows my mind is that Canada can have it - usually any US option carries to Canada and vice-versa. |

It would be better to have the rear seat with center armrest and cup holder (like Canadian version)

I sent them an email, it can't hurt I guess. Not sure it will make a difference, but I did my part. Hopefully they will eventually include it as an option.

looks like enough people have reached out to them about it that they now have a canned e-mail response. I got the same reply you did.

Since the M2 is offerred in other markets with a moonroof , no idea why BMW USA is being so much of a stick in the mud.
Let's see. Did the following BMW M cars have a sunroof/moonroof ? E30 M3 - check E36 M3 - check E46 M3 - check E90 M3 - check Email sent to BMW ! |

My "M" cars all had/have them E36 M3 check E46 M3 check M235I check (current) I realize the purists say no way to sunroof but here in great northwest it's nice to have the extra light. I don't have an issue with the extra weight and don't track cars either.

I write managers, BMWNA and BMWNA, no luck, they could do it, all BMW M2 are made at the same plant, they just dont want to for some unknown reason, they should at last make a paid for option, not a standard options so by default you do get it, have to check a box a pay more. BMWNA IMO has always been difficult to deal with, there is no reason why they cannot offer a sunroof as an option, just a few make a decision for all us, we cannot have it, not fail IMHO |

I wish BMW offered a sunroof option for the M2 in the USA. I would defenitely tick that option box. Having a sunroof is usually a must for me in a new car. Not being able to get a sunroof, especially when it's offered in other countries, was one of the main issues I had with the M2 (besides the ugly reflectors in the rear bumper). The rest of the car is brilliant, so not being able to get a sunroof is not serious enough to keep me from buying an M2, but it's disappointing. The extra weight added by a sunroof is negligible and would have zero impact on performance.
