Edison Composites Carbon Roof Installation

Our M2 was on display at the Essen Motorshow on CFDynamics Stand over the last 2 weeks. As part of the cars preparation for this one of the Edison Composites parts we installed was a carbon fibre roof which is made in Germany.

The roof itself is in the "double bubble" style but is more aggressive with the crease lines following almost to the front and rear edges of the roof. These lines follow the power bulge on their carbon GTS hood (more on that later).

We chose to spec the roof in 1x1 weave to match what the OE M power cars have on their roofs.

The roof itself is extremely light and saves around 5 KG from the the stock roof lowering the cars centre of gravity.

Very nice Imram, that Starla is one unique M2!

I suspect the cost to install this roof will make it cost prohibitive for most of us. At 5Kg weight saving I'd rather take the passenger seat out & go on a diet

Thanks! Its changed even more since these pictures. Watch out for a post later this week with updates.

Lets be honest this is a visual modification more than for weight saving.

Price tag including installation?

If BMW does not fit a carbon fiber roof on the CS, I will... It looks stunning!

Is it reversable?

Not sure where you are based but I would say around $3000 USD.

Its not easily reversible and definitely not cost effective.

I bring the car to the UK from CZ. Easy drive... Now let's first wait what the CS will be

The roof looks incredible.

Is the warranty effected by swapping out the roof?

From what I gather dealers may over look some bolt on mods, but replacing the roof....?

Carbon roof itself doesn't seem to expensive, but what does the install cost? Anyone concerned about it not being done correctly and effecting the structural integrity.

I'll hang up and listen, thanks

Bumping this thread, as I'd also like to know. Was thinking about having IND do an install, but I'm not ready to void the warranty yet either.
