Anyone Check the Ext Warranty/Maintenance Service on their e90s yet?

well, decisions ! decision ! the e90 is going to hit 50k miles maybe by the end of Summer. I know that original owner have the option of extending the original 5/50k miles warranty and maintenance service.

Had anyone inquire on the 2/100k warranty and maintenance yet? (I know Wrrty is about $1k+)

I'm unsure if its easier to get another DD or simply fork out the cash for another 2 yrs of peice of mind. So far seems like the no major issue, but I hate to see that dreaded "Lock Steering Wheel come up after 50k"

If anyone check on them yet, who gave the best price?

Remember!

FYI:

I was told that you have to purchase it before 49,000 miles and before 3 years and 11 months.

Basically, if you are with 1000 miles of 50,000 or with in one month of 4 years you can not.

That is what Fairfax BMW told me.

Check it out before you get too close..

I'm curious about pricing for these as well (extended maintenance and warranty).

If I get around to calling around different dealerships, I'll post up quotes I've received.

So far, I've only called VOB (where I purchased) and they offered $1800 for extended maintenance; didn't inquire about warranty, but I'm sure a better price can be had.

Passport seems the place to be, whether for new car purchase, service requests...and hopefully extended maintenance/warranty as well!!

I will have to place a call to them. Thanks

OMG!

over $4K for a BMW bumper to bumper warranty 2yr/100yrs

but if you go with a non-BMW warranty is would be about mid $2k

and around mid-low $1k for the BMW ext maintenance plan

hmmm

Anyone else got better figures....
Where are you getting these numbers? I'm leaving it up to you and others to blaze the trail. I figure that once I get to 50K miles (probably in about another 1.5 yrs), there will be a wealth of information about this on which I can rely.

Also, by then, there will be no wait list for the M3 or GT-R, Porsche will ask me to test drive all their new vehicles, and dealers will be giving away the E9x M3s -- to me. Good times, just around the corner.

When I called BMW of Sterling, they mentioned numbers in that range too. You could say it made my decision easier at the time.

Al:

You are right a lucky find.

I'm not that good that I know more about BMWs than you.

You are the real man.

Well a thread revisit to help others e90s guys whos car is approaching Mid-Life. car is abot 47k+ miles

Reliability Personal Analysis: a 9.5 over 10 points spread
MPG: Summer Driving : 23mpg with staggered Sport Pilots AS
MPG: Winter Driving : 25mpg with nonstaggered Pilot Alpins Winter tires
Oil Usage : no oil burn in the 16k miles driven every year

Quoted by Tischer BMW and the BMW Ext Main Plan quote is $1895 - 2 yrs and 50k additional miles (Schedule Maint Serv, brakes and wipers+ Rental Car)

They mentioned that there is a grace period for additional $200 for folks with miles 9k over 50k and within the fifth year. (making this at $2095)

pls chime in if you got better figures

Not sure if thats worth it? What about extended warranty for electronics? Fixing those cost a lot.
