What is the button in the middle steering wheel spoke?

You'll notice in the middle of the middle steering wheel spoke there is a button and not all interior images of the G30 appear to have this button

Well they probably moved it there because of owners who piss and moan that it is on the steering column behind the wheel on the left (F25) or right (E90) for example
