M Performance Alcantara/Carbon Fiber Interior - 5 pieces - installed

M Performance Alcantara/Carbon Fiber Interior - 5 pieces - installed

Well not exactly just 2 pieces out of the 5.

I'm not all that much a fan of our "dry/matte" carbon fiber interior trim, I knew that BMW made some the Alcantara Carbon Fiber Interior Kit.

So I pulled the trigger picked up the 5 piece set for the two pieces.

The two pieces that I needed

Take a look

Before
Trim above the glove box

Open the glove box door and pull the trim off - use a pry tool if necessary.

Removed

After

Before
Driver's side dash vent

very easy to install about a 5 minute install

just a quick pull

pull the ac vent out from the bottom pop it out and replace it with the new piece (sorry no photo)

I've seen this for sale before. What's the story behind the other 3 pieces. Don't we already have them in the base US car or am I not understanding what they are?

yes we have the dry/matte carbon so the other three pieces are the door handles and center piece. unfortunately bmw does not sell the dash pieces separately.

That looks excellent!

I've wanted to do this too, it's my #1 job but all I want is the alcantara pieces you have installed. I'm not bothered about the other items the kit comes with.

As you said, you can't buy them separately... I just begrudge paying for the other stuff I do not want, sigh.

yes that is correct, why BMW doesn't do just the two pieces is strange to me.

Not a fan of these. They are the same trim that a M235/40 can get.

Would rather have the Matte carbon that is exclusive to the M2
