Am I being lazy? Summer tires...

Am I just lazy, not putting on my summer tires back on yet? Have any of you guys switched back? When do you guys usually make the switch?

Last year, I took forever switching back because I wanted to fix my curb rash on the 162s while they were off the car. This year, I don't have any excuse. I am wondering whether it makes sense to keep on the winters for a couple more weeks or if I'm just procrastinating.

I put summer tires on last week. Then the temperature dropped about 20 degrees.

Okay, I'll do it. If it snows, I'm coming after WxSquid!

Once they are off the car, my winter rims are going to need one hell of a cleaning. They're so stained with brake dust, I think I'll end up breaking out the rubbing compound again. I'll have to post before and after photos if that's the case. You won't believe how bad these rims look. It makes me wonder if the ASA JH3s aren't clear coated, they stain so easily.

I also noted one good indication for the tire switch is when the winter tire running like a thugging road sound. Thats the tire rubber becoming hard not liking the warm temp

Interesting you mention that, because I recently noticed the tires were sounding louder. Thought it might be my imagination or that I should check tire pressure again. I don't remember that from last year.

put mine on last friday (temp was in the 80's). The next day it went down to the low 40's, go figure! I do not run winters though, just all seasons (Goodyear F1 A/S). We do not get snow, but it gets cold enough here to make summers dangerous in the rain.

Hey BK, I will change your wheels for you in exchange for lunch I've got a heavy-duty floor jack, one of those aluminum lift adapters, and torque wrench -- should take less than 20 minutes.

45ACP - You're a good man! But I plan to just change them myself. Maybe as soon as tonight or tomorrow morning, so I can have them in time for tomorrow's April 3rd, NoVa social at Carpool at 7pm. More likely I will wait until the weekend, though.

I don't need no stinkin' garage to make the swap! Although, tonight it's not going to happen. I'll do it this weekend.
