Smoking from exhaust probable causes thread.
Since this question is asked multiple times per week, I thought it would help to try and gather information in one thread. If you've dealt with smoking turbos, try and help others out with a little info :
1: When did it smoke? (cold start, warm start, idle, under load, decel, etc) 2: What was the cause? 3: Other info (oil used, mileage, catless, etc) |

1. Around 80K, after driving for a few minutes then stopping at say a traffic light.
2. TBD but I'm suspecting turbos as the wastegate rattle is terrible, one of the wastegastes is seized as well. Assuming it's a seal on the way out too. 3. OEM BMW fluids, 88K currently, catless VRSF DPs (been on the car for roughly 6 months. |

1: When did it smoke?
Cold Starts after the car would sit over night. 2: What was the cause? Leaky Fuel injectors 3: Other info 125K miles. Index 7 Injectors and one Index 8 injector (Probably a recall replacement) Replaced the Injectors and no more white bellowing smoke and a very smooth idle. |
