Help! - 2f7b 2e84 2e7c 2f8c ?!?!

So I drove to work without any issues, car ran perfectly fine the whole way.

I stopped to grab some breakfast and when I came back out my car wouldn't start.

Tried jump starting with another car... nope nothing.

I can turn the car on without starting the engine, but if I try to push the brake and press the start button all I can hear is the fuel pump and a few relays but the car refuses to start...

Codes I pulled from the JB4 Interface:

2F8C - NO Clue what this one is...

2E84 - Electric Water Pump Communication

2F7B - DME: Oil-pressure switch, plausibility

2E7C - Bit serial data interface signal

What in the hell is going on?!

Complete mod list is in the signature, maintenance that has been done within the last 15k miles is a Water Pump and Thermostat done @ BMW Dealer... Oil Change, & Rear Brake Pad change...

At this point I'm sick of this car having these kinds of issues and being so reliable, so I just need to get it started so I can get rid of it.... this will be the last BMW I ever own...

That was the problem I'm just getting the 2e7c code under heavy throttle and then the light goes off

It must have broke on the way over to wherever you were going. Sucks that it took 4 days to diagnose it! I feel like once you see the starter is getting no power the first thing you do is check the source and ground. :

Wasn't obvious... Everything else had power, and there wasn't an error code for the starter... there was one for the Communication Bus and the Water Pump/TStat.

So I was thinking the DME took a crap... Dealer should have the part already, so hopefully they have it all fixed up today.

I'll update this thread if anything else comes up.

Was definitely the ground-strap... I had them give me the old part b/c I was curious, and it almost looks like something cut right through the braided wiring less than an inch away from one of the mounting lugs.

So final resolution to this was the ground strap.

BMW Part #: 12427549396

Final cost was 2 hours labor + part cost & Tax = $400 at BMW dealer.
