downpipe install cost
EDITTTT
HELP! ok guys, had my dp's installed today.. no CEL YET.. lol anyway, car sounded good, revved fine. went to drive off, manual mode, tried to hit the gas and the car sputtered, almost like it had no fuel. Did this several times... Car did not have ANY dash lights come on etc.. just when i punch it, it sorta cuts out. Right now i left it at the mech, until tomorrow.. what could this be? currently shitting bricks, as the car has 450 miles on it. Is the car just acting funny because the air intake is more/less, is there a teach in time where i have to run the car for a little then it will be fine... any suggestions?? 3 hours of labor is what I was quoted and 2.5 was what I got charged @ $120/Hour
Highest I got quoted was $600.

Spoke to my BMW tech, and he said those gaskets get reused all the time without issue. But they are cheap, so u can replace if it makes u feel at ease. I think i might |

Yes, you can re-use the gasket but, they are made from a light material and can damage easy. During the downpipe install the gasket can move. If it is not watched, it can be pinched and damaged very easily. Not saying your friend is wrong, but it needs to be inspected during the install. |

There's one coming off the back of the turbo as well, sits in a groove and gets sandwiched between the turbo and downpipe.
Mind you this is an X5M but I can't see why it'd be different. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=18_0793 Last edited by m5james; 08-30-2016 at 10:43 PM.. |
