For Sale: ESS VT2-625 Supercharger Kit ** Houston, TX Only **

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 4,000.00

Or Best Offer

Location:
✓ Local Pickup Only

Item Interest
Only 4000 miles on kit. Buyer will need to live in or around Houston and have my shop remove the supercharger and parts and install on your M3. Buyer must pay for removal and installation costs. I think $4000 is a fair price for this $9000 kit. I paid extra to get the black supercharger color rather than the standard silver look.

The market is relative and this is what I'm willing to sell it at given the caveat of needing to be local.

625 kit with 4000 miles for 4000 bucks. I haven't seen a deal like this before either. Someone come get it!

Can you provide a rough cost for the removal/re-install? BTW it's a hell of a deal!

Here's the scoop.

1. Removal of kit from my car and installation on your car would cost $3100 (a new kit installed out of a box costs $2000 all day long).
2. You must purchase a new VIN locked ESS tune for your car which includes the obd cable, 14d of hardware support and 2 years of software support and free updates. This costs $895 (I called ESS).

So new kit installed is $11,000 plus tax.
Buying my kit will cost you 4000 + 3100 + 895 = $7995. I can't do much about the labor costs.

Yes I see that. $8890 plus tax (for the black version).

If you can get your car there, that would be the way to go. I'm very sure they would not install a used kit for free.

There is nothing I can do from a cost of labor standpoint as it takes about 6-8 hours to install.

For those of you interested, I'd also suggest you sell your M3 and buy my '13 M3 with 11,250 miles well sorted with the supercharger already installed. Just sayin.

seriously? This isn't that hard of a job. $3100 for the swap?? tell you what, pay me $2600 and I'll fly out there and do it for you. Easiest $260/hr ill ever make. That's absurd

That number is from the shop that installed mine. I don't control his numbers. But what I can do is see what some other shops might charge. I'm definitely not a fan of paying somebody to do something I can do myself. That being said, I would guess that most people likely paid a shop to install theirs.

I had my used kit installed for $1000 and I also had my SS brake lines installed and flushed the lines with Castrol SRF which I supplied. I'd find a more reasonable shop for labor. I already had an ESS tune and cable but had to pay $600 to get the supercharger tune from them.

Agreed. $3100 is very high for doing two installs.

So why does the buyer need to have your shop install it in their vehicle if they choose to install it themselves? Maybe this will help a bit if they only have to pay for removal.

That's what I was thinking but wasn't going to say it because im not interested. Sounds like a very attractive price but too many stipulations. Buyer could easily do the swap if he was even moderately mechanically inclined
