Any DIY for adjusting the moonroof?
The rear edge of my moonroof has been slowly working its way out of adjustment. When closed it now sits a solid 1/4" below flush with the roof:
Otherwise it seems to operate okay, but the resulting wind noise has gotten to be a nuisance. I'm also worried about excessive water leaking into that area during rainy conditions. Any tips on how to fix this? My dealer wants $165 just to diagnose it, and won't offer even a guess of the overall repair cost. |

I was able to adjust mine, which was sitting a bit higher.
If I recall correctly, I had to remove the side covers from the inside. This holds a few screws and I loosened the screws, which give some room to adjust it higher or lower. I'll try to find the DIY guides I used, but i would definitely try to do it yourself before paying someone. It wasn't difficult at all. |

The screws are either T20 or T25 torx. All you need to do as you see in the instructions you found is loosen the screws a few turns (but don't take them out) and lift up the glass till the rear side of the glass is flush and the front side is 1-2mm lower than the roof itself (unless you want to hear excessive wind noise). To set the proper gap just stick a credit car either on the front side or back side between the weather stripping and glass.
The torque spec as you see in the instructions is minimal so unless you have a micro torque wrench, hand snug is more than enough. |

You can also try the reset procedure. Push the middle sunroof button for about a minute and hold it until it completes a full cycle of opening and closing.

Try this first if your sunroof is misaligned! Fixed mine like a charm! Just hold it down through the entire cycle which takes about a minute.
