BMW 328xi coupe or 335xi coupe? (2009-2010)
Im debating whether to purchase a 328 or 335 awd. I need to know which one would be cheaper/easier in self-maintenance, better on gas, and overall more reliable. Im planning on driving this as my daily and on through the winter. I am aware the 335 has a turbo, but does it make a big difference in some of the things im looking for? Thanks in advance..

Of course the 328 is less expensive to maintain and gets better MPG than a 335. As far as price, the 328 and the 335 can be relatively similar, but depending on the mileage of the car (less mileage higher the value) a low mileage 328 could be more than a 335 with higher miles and vice versa
What is this difference are you looking for? Both cars can pretty much have the all same bells and whistles (i.e. Sports package, M-sport, Nav, Comfort access, and other options a la cart for that model year). The only major difference is, the 335 is the faster car because of the twin turbos. If you get a 328 and realize it’s not as quick as you had hoped and decide you want to try add more ‘GO’ power to make faster to like a 335, forget it. You’ll spend $$$$ on useless mods (i.e. tune, CAI, exhaust, etc.) that would only gain maybe 20- 30 HP? Not worth it, therefore you should've gotten a 335. But if you’re not into mods, then stick with the 328. As for reliability, the pendulum probably swings towards the 328 based on what you read about on this site and other sites. But, I think it depends on how the owner maintained it. I have a 2010 335 E92 which I bought new and haven’t any major mechanical or electrical issues with it whatsoever. It’s been reliable as the first day I drove it home. Good luck with whichever you decide.

Lol, I was mad at my car this morning so that was my valiant effort to persuade you otherwise.. But I fixed it so it's all good lol, I have a 335 btw and if you get one make sure you have a warranty and/or deep pockets..

As long as you never experience the N54, you'll be fine in the 328i
Ignorance is bliss
