Ok well as some of you know my transmission is failing so I decided to do a transmission flush just to try it out I have 2 options whats the difference here and are these both approved fluids????

Option 1: $170 shipped

Like I said this is pretty much a shot in the dark as my transmission shakes bad under power in 2nd gear and shifts to 3rd because it knows there is a problem. One time it slipped completely in 2nd gear and I got the gear light on the dash and was unable to drive the car until it was shut off and turned back on. I figure it would be good to do the flush anyways to get better looking fluid for when its taken in for warranty when it completely fails otherwise the fluid may indicate a clear heavy use of the car and possibly void my warranty?

Well, option 1 has febi brand fluid vs option 2 is ZF. It's advised to change the mechtronic sealing sleeve (where electrical connector is at back of transmission) while you are in there. Tends to leak, cheap part.

difference? fluid. first link is febi and second ZF (OE). i've used febi several times and had zero issue. Here is the link if you want to go with febi... plus you'll save some money.

Why not use a reputable shop like CTS? Their kits include the sleeve and a few extra fasteners if you have any that are corroded etc...OEM ZF fluid.

Plenty of threads here if you search for those who have BTDT using the kits.

Can they argue it wasnt maintained? Car was abused based off fluid? Plus under stock it has bo problems....

Transmission fluid is supposed to be "lifetime" according to them, so what can they argue..?? I'd be like here, fix it, call me, bye..

Yea maybe I guess but can they tell the tranmission was under higher than normal strain?

If your mods caused the failure because you sent more power to the transmission that it's supposed to handle, then the warranty for the transmission is void because your mods caused it. It's in the warranty fine print. Actually, it may be in bold print.

Now if you want to want to be dishonest and pretend there were no mods, then that's up to you.

+1 on the Mechtronic Sleeve as you're right there.

LiquiMoly TopTek 1200 meets the factory requirement, and it's awesome fluid. That's what I went to. Bavarian has it in stock for not too much:

There are two formulations, so call and give them your VIN and they can make sure you get the right one. LM also makes a VERY good 75/140 hypoid that works awesome in our diffs. Since you're right there you may as well.

if you replace solenoids or Mechtronic itself(means take off Mechatronic)
then you need 8 liters of fluid. if it's just fluid/filter and sleeve replacement then you are ok with 6 liters.

yes its M-1375.4 approved. they are few other brands such as motul, liqui moly and pentosin (all M-1375.4 approved).

yes, thats all you need for the mechatronic sleeve. take your time when doing this....this thing is PITA at least for me .

that square seal is Mechatronic seal adapter which you will have to take the mechatronic unit off.

That a bit of work or na? Like i said my transmission is slipping bad under 20 psi of boost not looking for a miracle but anything is possible? lol

Just a thought....Vibrations or shaking could also be as a result of failed/ing transmission mounts.:

Possible but the car slipped completely out of 2nd the other day and got the gear light on the dash. Clutches are slipping Im thinking not sure on my awtq but the clutches are not handling whatever I am at. Stock boost (map4) is fine tho no slippage firm shifts etc. Gona do the mechtronics sleeve the square adapter and a fluid change and pray because I dont think anything fluid wise will help me here. I am trying to figure out where I can get some heavier duty clutch packs to replace in the transmission.

no its not hard at all. once you take the pan off its easy.

Thank you didnt see the torque specs till now. Problem is my low torque wrench is 5-80 ft lbs my high is 10-150 ft lbs. Might not be that accurate at 8 NM idk. That mechtronics unit that seprate of the valve body or is it the same thing pretty much? Sorry I am an automatic transmission noob. My friend knows alot more about them than me as he is ASE certified.
