E90 Valve Cover Stuck/Seized On
So i've had an oil leak for about a week now, and after changing the oil filter housing gasket and realizing it still was present, I went ahead and decided I wanted to replace my valve cover gasket as well. After working on it and removing EVERYTHING (double/triple checked) needed to remove the actual valve cover, its seems to be stuck down and not wanting to come up any time soon. Video for reference (my video). From the video I watched (valve cover gasket diy) at 11:20, his seems to just pop right off with no effort at all.
Any insight would be appreciated, and if I am missing something very obvious and stupid, please go easy on me. I tried searching around for the answer. With a little work, it has given a TINY bit and has a little more play to it, but after going around the seal and tapping with a rubber mallet, it still seems to be irremovable for the time being. I am going to continue working at it right now and I think it just might be one of those things thats very time consuming but at the end will come off, I hope theres an easier answer.

Thank you both. This ended up being it. The video I was watching never mentioned anything about them Update: Pulled the valve cover off, it ended up being cracked and as of now thats where i think the leak was. Ordered a new valve cover. Thanks for the help. View post on imgur.com

I'm glad I found this rather than continuing to struggle with it and break something. What did ya'll use to get those bolts out? I don't have a socket that deep and idk that i've ever seen one like that.

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean the two that have the coil harness grounds on them? Once you take off the little 8mm nut on the top to remove the grounds, a regular 10mm deep well socket will remove the bolts. You may even be able to get a standard depth socket on them. I used a deep well one.

There is a (cheap) special socket for those bolts, but you can get them with the 3/8" drive deep 10mm socket if you put the socket on the bolt before putting the ratchet on the socket.
