how does dp fix work?

I have the dp fix installed and have readiness for all but o2s and cat. No JB4, no backend flash. Just c@tless DPs. Without the dp fix I get o2s to be ready fast but throw codes. With the dp fix no o2s readiness and no codes.

Is it that the dp fix does something to the fuel mixture that is preventing the o2s from becoming ready? do I have to adjust the dial even though there are no codes being thrown.

some information as to how the dp fix works would help me understand what i have to do. thanks!

The 02 simulator does nothing else but send a false mV signal back to the ECU.

Thanks! I've turned the dp fix dial to a stronger setting (position 4 o'clock) and still cannot get the o2s and cat to ready. No codes. What am I doing wrong? I've driven the car quite a bit and followed the drive cycle. Without the dp fix the o2s gets ready quite easily.

Keep driving. For me, it took a lot of highway cruising to set the O2's and cat. If you go over 60mph or so, it doesn't count toward the cycle. I drove at night on an empty highway to get it to finally set. In 2 weeks of driving before I did that, it would not set. Don't change the settings unless you are getting codes. If you set it too strong and then it triggers a CEL, it will take a long time to clear.

I've been driving on the highway at 57mph using the cruise control and occasionally coasting from 57mph to 40mph. Since it is just the O2S and Cat I don't worry about the 3 minute idle at cold start, 5 minute idle at end, etc.

Did you have to drive in the highway for >15 minutes? Most of my highway driving is 15-20 minutes at just below 60mph.

Do you know what the voltage should read on the o2s? I have the INPA cable and can probably read the voltage on both O2S banks.

o2s voltage reading

I have not been able to get the O2S and Cat to get ready. Without the dp fix the O2S gets ready quickly so it is not an issue with me not being able to read readiness. I have tried 5 o'clock, then 4 o'clock, and now 7 o'clock settings and driven many miles on each setting. I do not get any codes. I have recently looked at the voltage using the Bavarian Technic software and the readings for both 4 o'clock and 7 o'clock are the same and as follows:

voltage lambda probe behind catalytic converter: 0.3 to 0.5V (same for bank 1 and 2)
voltage lambda probe in front of catalytic converter: 1.9V to 2.05V (same for bank 1 and 2)

I read that the voltage should not be above 0.9V so I am perplexed. I also don't understand why the different dp fix settings are not changing the voltage.

Is the dp fix defective or am I not reading the correct values? I am well overdue the smog registration deadline.
