Confirm Halogen Halo Bulb Type - Downgrading to Halogens
One my H8 Cree LED Halo lights burnt out. I don't want to spend $$ to replace them with another set of LEDs, so I am downgrading.
I heard white halogen bulbs were OK. Even better if you can code them to take 13.6V instead of the standard 12v to make them brighter. Before I order the halogens, I had some quick questions. - Any fitment issues if I buy a standard set of H8 halogen's from China on a e90 LCI w/Xenons? - Does the bulb need to rated at 35W ? Can it accept higher wattage? - Anyone in the toronto region do some free coding for me? thanks, K |

Are you replacing the Angel eye bulb or some other bulb on the car?

most all H8 bulbs are the same, i haven't heard of any of them not fitting correctly.
You can code the bulb up to 13.8 v however it will introduce more heat into the headlight then it was designed for potentially discoloring the headlight, and shortening the life of the halogen bubs. Do not go above a 35W bulb as that will draw too much power and create way too much heat in the headlight. LED bulbs will give you a much better color and evenness between the inner and outer rings however.

Thanks for the info! I definitely agree that LEDs are much better... but I'm no longer too picky about getting perfection, especially on an older vehicle.

If your car can be coded via the wifi obd adaptors and the Carly app, message me and I can help you out.
Just got it so have no experience with it, but supposed to be straight forward.

Cool, thanks! It should work. I ordered the halogens. May take a couple of weeks to arrive.
