Guys I just got offered an M2 that someone backed out on from Topeka BMW for $94k????? I spoke with the manager and asked him if he was serious and turns out he was. What is wrong with these people?

That is insane. I'm in KC and apparently he got it shipped to aristocrat from Topeka for whatever reason. Assume he has ties there I am sure. Wish I could find him to see that color would help my decision.

I tried to buy this car over the phone with cash and they wanted 79k at that time. I get why dealers are doing this but they take a big risk. I was there when the e46 m3 was hot and dealers sold cars for outrageous markups over msrp. Some of these dealers were punished by their customers later.

Perhaps we should create a list of these extortion artists and boycott them as a community. It won't likely hurt them much but it would feel good. I have two dealers in my state I won't do business with because of this BS. Mine are Tucson BMW and Chapman BMW.

In Australia we look for anything UNDER sticker. Then again we're quite content paying double what you pay....

Funny, they said they "had" 2 offers out of state for 10k over and wanted people to put offers in. These guys are snakes! Do not pay them penny overy msrp.

I told the salesperson I'm not interested in paying anything over MSRP and am already on a list. Just hoping for a quicker purchase.

I actually went there, physically last week, went there on Wednesday. I saw the car, it's a blue, manual, exc. package, it was listed 2 days ago on Cars.com with pictures matching what I saw, they had the car on some sort of warehouse. I think they sold the car already as it's not longer listed on cars.com.

I live locally, offered 1k over MSRP and service there, but they said they had someone putting 7k above MSRP.

The salesman texted me ok on Thursday, then the next day he told me it was an error, and thought he was texting someone else... weird.

I don't quite trust those guys, rather wait whatever it takes and get it somewhere else. Not servicing there for sure.

Unfortunately this sets a dangerous precedent that dealers can charge this much over and still make a sale...

Though there are several out there that insist they never charge above MSRP, some they even bragged about it (after calling at least 50 dealers in the Midwest) so I guess there is some hope.
