Any difference before 150k? I know the manual tranny supposed to be changed at 60k and the diff at 100k. But considering I am at 105k now and getting rid of the car in 2 years seems like flushing money down the drain. Anyone hear of diff or manual tranny failure pre 200k? I have even heard people say not to change the tranny fluid at all because it could cause problems.
No, I don't give a damn about the car after I get rid of it. It will prob be traded in where it will be auctioned off. No I can't do the work myself no garage and fluids is a no no at my apartment complex. Plus not a fan of being under 4 jack stands. |

If you're getting rid of it in 2 years I'd say don't even bother. The 60k/100k figures are preventative maintenance more than anything else, neither are going to fail because you didn't change the fluids by 120k miles. I plan to do them at 60k but I also plan to keep the car for awhile. Even BMW says they're 'lifetime' fluids lol

I wouldn't touch it if you're getting rid of it in 2 years. Especially if you're not doing it yourself.

Let me guess Indy charges 300-400 to change these? Funny because its simply pulling a plug then using a fluid pump for both. Should not take more than an hour for both.

From my understanding you need it on 4 jack stands to have the car level or you wont be able to get the correct amount of fluid in the car. It will spill out before its full on ramps.
