Oil Baffles for Long G Turns - NCCAR

Did a track day at the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research which has a very long .8g turn. Should I worry about oil starvation or has BMW addressed it with some form of Oil Baffles in the engine? I have a 228i MSport.

I've read that the car won't oil starve until you're up around 1.3-1.5g. Unless you're on race slicks, you're fine.

Thanks, that makes sense. I did really enjoy using the M Laptimer. It provided G Forces, speed, gearing, braking and acceleration. I found it useful to u derstand where I was making improvements throughout the day. On one constant radius turn I pulled .85gs with my stock MPSS tires and suspension. I was Pretty impressed!

Yeah, that sounds right. The M235i held a g rating of .97 on the Motortrend instrumented test, but driving on a course is different than a skidpad.

How much are you guys getting on braking.... I seem to not get more than around 0.55 G

0.56-0.60 at the end of the long straight but it is leading into a high speed sweeper. About 0.5-0.56 at the other points.

That is probably more a factor of my driving style. I was worried about ruining my tires and being smooth rather than attacking the course.

No brake fade though with the M-Sport stock pads! We were running 20-25 minute sessions.
