E92 2008 328xi- front seats won't fold forward

Hello everyone. I just recently upgraded my E36 to an E92 and I have a few issues that I need to repair, the first of which is my front seats. When I pull the shoulder, the seats will not release and fold forward. I assume that I either need to adjust the cable tension or replace the cables all together.

Has anyone repaired this same problem? Do I have to take the back of the seat off? I couldn't find a DIY thread for this.

Thanks in advance.

both seats? Seats don't start swinging when you pull on the lever. they are still locked. Pull the lever up and pulling seats a bit harder - yank them.

Nothing when I pull the levers... I got the passenger seat to fold forward one time but that was it. I've yanked on them pretty hard and there is definitely something wrong that needs some attention.

I'm just trying to make it easier to get my German Shepherd in the back seat so we can go party at the dog park haha

Ttt. Someone has to have experienced this problem... if not, I guess I will take pictures as I experiment and write up a DIY if I have time

I had this problem with my passenger seat. The folding mechanism in the seat just needs to be lubed up. It's easy to fix if you pull the seats out. Flip the seat upside down and try to spray some lube in pivot point of the seat. I pulled the back off and peeled back the cushion to have a better look at what was going on. Also helps to not saturate the seat in oil.
