225/255 is really the widest you can go with those wheels. Technically, a 245 will fit on the 8'' but you'd then need a 275 for the rear and that is much too wide for a 8.5'' wide wheel. Just get some sticky tires. Brigestone RE11.

Dont bother, 255/225 is the widest you can go. Period. If you dont mind a sloppy steering feel then go slightly wider and have tons of sidewall flex. I would suggest getting a set of rear wheels and putting them on the front. Run non runflat summer tires 255 on all four.

I'd wouldn't DD them. RE11 are a much better DD.

They'll last 1-1.5 summers and are noisy as hell. RE11 is a much friendlier tire.

I run 265 PSS's in the rear with 10mm spacer and it will slightly rub over big high speed dips in the freeway.
With no spacers they didn't rub at all.

You can easily run bigger than 255 in the rear. Problem is, with his wheels he can't run any wider because xi needs with 1% diameters (larger in front) and 265 is definitely too wide for an 8.5 and 255 is much too wide for an 8''.

This will be my second summer on my re71s, hoping that they will last to the end of the year. They are a relatively loud tire but as with most other things you get used to it (just added solid subframe mounts and diff mounts, so tire noise is the least of my concern). If you want a daily tire get pss.

RE71r are noisy as hell. PSS are super quiet. RE11 is a bit louder but offer significantly more grip than a PSS. Of course sacrificing tire life.
