how much oil does the E90 328 consume?
Hi
Im a fairly new owner of 2011 BMW 328. Does this car burn/use up oil much? So far i've only driven about 1200 km since i bought it. according to my oil indicator, it still at MAX. Question, how often or how many miles before you need to top off and how much do you need to add? Thanks |

Mine E90 328 never burnt a drop of oil. The 335 will burn some oil due to the turbos but this SHOULD not be an issue with the 328. In your case, you have 3 possible culprits for the leak valve cover gasket oil pan gasket oil filter housing gasket DO NOT ADD OIL UNTIL THE CAR TELLS YOU TO ADD. The oil measurement you see is based on a one liter interval. So it will show add 1 or +1 when you are short a liter. |

I have 2007 328i and I add about 500mlg between every oil change (I change oil every 10k). but if I won't, level never goes below minimum. Also my gasket seems to be leaking a bit.

I have a 2011 328 and have had for a year and a half, changed the oil once so far and added zero oil in between oil change. You should not have to worry about adding any oil. The car will tell you if you do need to add.

You should get in the habit of checking the level
You should get in the habit of checking the level.
And you should also know the graph only represents the last quart. And the sensor takes awhile to update so much so that you should take reading on three seprate drives and average the results. If you add oil never add much and then do reading on three separate drives before you decide to add more. |

Have a 07 since 2011. Bought the car at 13k miles. Now have 136k. Started needing a qt or 2 starting at 55k miles between oil changes. Threw a rod @ 123k and replaced engine with a 27k mile engine. Never did vcg or ocg but always checked and stayed on top of oil using obc. 3k on current oil change my obs is still in the ok range but bar graph is half way illuminated. Gonna get it changed in 2k but expecting to have to add a quart at that time.

Zero.....
An engine in good repair, boosted or not, should not be using oil. If it is, it is getting into the combustion chamber which means something is wearing/worn internal to the engine, turbo seals, or is leaking external.... I've got snails pushing 30psi into rides that don't use oil... Again, Zero...... |

NADA, this one sets the benchmark for me. 127k mikes, burns nothing over 5k.
