No 2017 5-series sedan in the USA?

Just noticed that BMW released production dates for all 2017 model year vehicles and the only 5-series for the USA market will be the F07. No F10 or G30 offered.

Seems like BMW will repeat what they did back in the 90's where there was no 96 5-series.

The USA will get the G30 5-series as a 2018 model year?

Interesting.

I'm pretty sure Scott said the G30 already started production this past February as a 2017 model. Reveal is this summer.

EDIT: Combing through the forum i have realized early 2017 SOP for 2017 models. Not quite sure where I got this past February... Long day.

Incorrect. The G30 has not started production yet.

Good catch, I goofed, I meant 2017 I know the GT 5er is renewing production the July as your table says. I'm trying to find the quote I'm referencing. I think the standard 5er EOP is October and the G30 reveal is around the LA auto show. The speculation now is the SOP could be as early as December 2016 for 2017 models. But February of 2017 might mean that there is indeed a bit of a gap.

End of production on the F10 is October 2016. Expect the G30 to be first available in 2018. Whether they do a 2017.5 or a 2018 model year won't really matter.

I can see a late 2017 US launch as a MY 2018.

I ordered my E60 and F10 around March as a next years MY and had them delivered in June and July respectively. Sometime BMW realeases next years MY in spring for ordering and summer for delivery. That would be my guess here that we can order the 2018 G30 in spring 2017 and that there will be no 2017 funfers as the OP observed.

Not all 2017 models have shown up in this 2017 production table yet.

I'd bet on an early-2017 launch as a MY18. That'll preserve the seven-year product cycle (the F10 started as a MY11) and leave only a few month gap between the MY16 and new MY18. BMW did the same thing with the new 7er last year.

Not everybody is American so we don't suffice to that ridiculous one year ahead of what it actually is. The USA will have the car for Late Spring, early Summer in the ACTUAL year 2017.

Not sure when it will come out, but a good friend of mine is a master tech and he's going for training on the new 5 series in the fall this year.
