Spacer help for my 328xi Pre-lci
Hello, I recently purchased new rims for my ride: Apex EC 7.
The specs are: 18in, front 8.5, offset 35 with 235/40, and rear 9.5, offset 35 with 265/35 tires by Aelous. I want an a little more of an aggressive look. I was hoping to install spacers for the front and rear. My pre-lci has stock suspension, let me know if putting 3mm spacers are appropriate. I would hate to have any rubbing. Thanks! UPDATE: Started running the most aggressive specs possible: Still running stock suspension, but im about to upgrade without lowering the height. Now I run Michelin Super Sports, 245/40r18 +275/35r18 with 12mm and 15mm spacers. They don't poke out too much, the side walls sit parallel to the fenders if that makes sense. Plus, when running spacers use studs; they're more efficient to use and they look pretty damn race car. I sure came a long way; 3mm spacers - what a joke!! Will be posting pics soon. Three mm? You should be fine, though if youre going for aggressive 3mm is unlikely to create much if any aesthetic difference.
Good luck, nice looking car. |

Yes I do have high suspension however, where I live in the northeast tru-state, the roads are not perfect. There are a lot of bumpers and dips on the highways. I don't want it to rub when I encounter them.

I wouldn't mind piggybacking on this thread. I have stock 16" style 268, 16x7, 31 offset. I'm going to put on 225/50/16 tires and may lower a bit in the future. I'd like to spacer them out as well.
Would 15mm rear, 12mm front be too much? |

I have 12mm front/15mm rear on my 09' 328iX with OEM 193M wheels 8F/8.5R & 225/40-18F/255/35-18R tires on stock suspension.
No problems with rubbing whatsoever even on crappy PA roads - we basically are sky high over the tires. As long as your shocks/springs are still in good shape you will have no problems. A 3-5mm spacer will really not even be noticeable. I stay away from 10mm spacers due to the way they fit with OEM hub (spacers bottom out on hub lip before bottoming out on hub face). Only 10mm spacers I would venture to use would be from TurnerMotorsports as they design them differently, even then I would double check... While you're at installing spacers - get yourself a set of 90MM Stud Kit (if you're using 12 & 15 spacers) & get rid of the lug bolts. Makes swapping out wheels between seasons much easier, & there are many lugs you can buy that are nicer than the factory bolts. I get my studs/lugs from MotorSports Hardware, but would also buy from Turner. ECSTuning sells entire stud/lug kits as well.

Came across a good deal in the marketplace... could I get away with 20mm rear, 15mm front considering I'm running 205/50/16 on 16x7 wheels at stock xDrive ride height?

Just to toss this out there, I'm running 8" F&R wheels, with Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec tires at 225/45 17 with 15mm front spacers and 18mm rear, and I could easily have gone with 20mm rear without too much drama. I may have had to do the slightest roll in the rear at 20mm, but 18mm has been all good.
Your mileage may vary with different tires, esp run flats. |

Go for 5mm, 3mm will be less.. I had similar gap left on my wheels and I did 5mm, some rubbing but got set with alignment. my car is e93 and lowered.
My recommendation for spacers is ECS tuning, best price and the spacer comes with the bolts. |

Pre-LCI E90 with stock sport suspension:
I'm running Michelin PSS 235/40R18 on 18x8.5 ET35 (with 10mm spacer) on the front and 275/35R18 on 18x9.5 ET35 (no spacers) in the rear. No fender roll, and no rubbing. Cheers! |
