Thanks for posting this! Rooting for McLaren to make a comeback this year too!
And just if it isn't clear - the PST times are all the night before the race day. Ie the race Starts at 1030PM Saturday Night. |

FP1 currently on NBCSN in the US. Nothing much going on aside from intermediate running on a slow drying track.
Renault livery is very striking in the tv. Digging it! Looking forward to FP2 to get a clear picture of where all the teams stand in the pecking order. No shock that it probably a 1/2 of Mercedes/Ferrari. |

HELLO TO NEW SEASON!
Lets hope it'll be a wet-dry-wet-dry Albert Park to ensure some good fun.

weather conditions looked awful in FP1. while I'm always excited for a new F1 season, I fear this year will simply be a repeat of last year.
The cars sounded better to me than they did last year, anyone else notice that? I did get a new TV this winter so maybe that's the difference I'm hearing. |

Trying to explain to my son and a friend when asked about the red bull car. It has an Aston Martin badge on the front but the motor is a Tag Heuer which is really a Renault motor. I completely understand all of the relationships here and the marketing strategies but damn, its so confusing to someone who hasnt followed the offseason. Talk about misleading. One would think Aston Martin has a car in Formula 1. Haas is basically a Ferrari B team running more than just a Ferrari motor but tranny, steering rack, and many other components. I like it. Hope they do well. (As in hang in the midfield kinda well) Hopefully its an exciting season. Dont know about the new quali format. Time will tell.

anyway, I'll be pulling for FI, Sauber, and now Haas this year. I always like an underdog. |

I look at those stupid front wings and I just get pissed off. So wonderful unless somebody is behind you and wants to pass, like they do, ya know in actual racing? But no, follow too close and you cook the tires in a couple laps. Ridiculous.
Remove the aero, put massive tires on the car, huge power, get rid of the paddles, and lets go racing. |

New qualifying is abysmal.
It should include the flying lap post 90 seconds. The cars can't even be turned around quickly to try and get a better time. |
