M2 Orders in California - A Real Recommendation

I'm a former Montrealer living in Phoenix, a new user to Bimmerpost, and new to the brand, but I've been reading the threads for about two years. The 2addicts forum helped me decide where to source my build allocation for a 2015 M235i over a year ago, and I couldn't be happier.

I encourage anyone looking at the M2 (as I will when my M235i lease is up) to speak with David M Aviles in Camarillo at Steve Thomas BMW. I've never experienced a more thorough and thoughtful Sales Advisor since we started talking about the build.

To deliver the car, David met me at 9:30pm late Friday night after I was delayed after 4:30 at the train station. The car was parked on display with the lights on so I could see it from my seat as the train approached. David delayed his weekend, was on-call for me all Friday night until I got in - and stayed to answer all my questions in detail. I can't recommend him enough.

Driving my M235i through the Malibu Canyons before heading back to Phoenix was an awesome experience. Can't wait to do it again in an M2.

Rather than post photos of my M235i, or the M2 on tour I saw yesterday in the dealerships, I thought it would be more interesting to include something special. RM Auction in Phoenix just had some rare BMWs at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel. Included are some shots I took of a 1973 3.0 CSL and a Blue Sunoco M1 while the sun was setting.

On a more personal note, I experienced large loss in the family a few weeks after placing the order. David never added to my stress level while we worked together and was always trustworthy. When we talked about the car, I knew I didn't have to worry about it, and I could focus on my family.

David - Thank you again! This post was a long time coming, but I will never forget your help.

My condolences to you and your family.

Very nice write-up and great pics.

I too have had a great experience so far with my sales manager (Rob) out of BMW gallery in Norwood MA. Rob has been great so far and I look forward to the rest of the process moving forward with his support.

I'm working with BMW of Warwick not far from you, I actually did buy my '04 //M3 from Norwood 12 years ago, and the sales guy was great, although moved on a few years back.

Are you a customer car, or a launch (HEA) car, and do you have production number and build date yet?

Im glad i'm going out of state for my purchase.

My order allocation at BMW mountain view at #6 officially told me that it would be $5000 market up.

here is the email, kinda BS:

"I finally received word from corporate that there will be a $5k mark up on the M2. Once the market warrants it, we will be at MSRP."

Who's corporate? It's definitely not BMW.

Yap.... same here. California is pretty tough. I'll be going two States and 850 miles over to get mine for MSRP. And I was number one on their list. Well worth the drive.

Phoenix in January to hit all of the car events is a bucket list event for me.

Thanks for the pics.

Good luck with the car.

Congrats on the 5th car

Aviles is a great guy. He literally waited around all night to deliver the car while I was delayed getting in.
