Engine replacement DIY--has anyone done one?
Just curious, I am about to tackle this and was wondering if anyone has done an engine swap DIY or if I should go ahead and picture document EVERYTHING and post the procedure I used.
Thoughts or DIY write up location? Thanks! |

I don't recall seeing one. If you're doing one for the community it would benefit us all.

1. Remove old engine
2. Install new engine

Yep, rc and I have "talked" via text, damn good start with his stuff and the beginning of the clutch DIY he references....hopefully I won't get lazy with the pics. If I take the time to take the pics it will be complete, from jacks stands to on the ground....
Otherwise, I guess I will fill in the blanks. Chris Quote:

Transplant starts this weekend.
I am hoping to get the motor out Saturday and it might be another Saturday or two before it is done. Unfortunately the garage I am using isn't mine, otherwise it would be a week long project. I am going to time lapse the whole project along with a (hopefully) comprehensive DIY with pics. It's go time...... Chris |

The M is packed up with all fluids, new flywheel, clutch kit, all other misc crap and my tools. I never realized how damn big this trunk is...
Hopefully it doesn't blow the F*(k up on the 10 mile drive!!! Sounds fine, but I know she's on borrowed time.... Update with pics tomorrow or Saturday night!!! |
