NoVA, MD, DC touchless carwash directory.

Hi all,

Because i do not have a garage, I usually use a touchless (basically a water sprayer) carwash in the colder months to keep the car somewhat clean.

I understand that this is less than ideal, as carwashes typically do recycle the water used, and the filtration quality is variable depending on maintenance frequency.

But it is what it is. I do have a beater truck so i dont drive the m3 in snow or when there is alot of salt on the roads.

I would like to compile a list of touchless carwashes in our area, with your help.

I typically use:

The sunoco station at National Harbor

The shell station on Rt 1 and Fordson road in hybla valley.

I only know of one in Alexandria which is Mobil on Duke St:

The pressure of the washers on Duke St is not that great.

I'm way out in Loudoun now, but I used to live in Alexandria for a while. There's a BP in Kingtowne on Van Dorn I used to go to and there's a Shell right off of 395/Edsall.

Shell gas station at 5500 Franconia Parkway Alexandria VA. They actually just installed a new touch less wash within the last couple weeks.

They also have the best pricing on 93 octane I've seen around the area in case you're in need of a fill up.

Thanks everyone, ...of those listed here, do they have rails for the wheels at those? (I've only found one sans rail wheels , but its in Clarksburg MD)...but I haven't been looking for a while since I gave up...

Not the shell one I mentioned. The new system is a single wand that goes around the whole car with an undercarriage spray bar you drive over and air dry blowers at the end.

A line builds up there every now and then. I'm not sure if they close it or not when it gets below freezing. Sometimes it's hit or miss for me when I go by. I'm not too concerned about keeping my car spotless so I'll wash it right before it rains since there usually won't be a line. I'm mainly concerned about keeping the buildup of dirt off.

Very cool to know , thanks!... I grew up in Springfield so familiar w the area...time for a drive by....I have a house so wash at home when I can, but when it's super cold I have no time nor choice...

This Shell station has two self service bays with the pressure wash wands. Always a line and packed out though.

Sam's Car wash in manassas is pretty good. Has touchless wash as well as about 7 self service stations. Does not blow dry for the touchless though.

Upgraded from a 335is; haven't had a chance to really open it up yet but definitely looking forward to the weekend!

I first discovered it by accident since it's adjacent to the Home Depot in Annandale. Rail-less handwash, they drive your car into their little covered garage for the wash. Open 7 days a week, and price for a quick full exterior + interior detail is pretty reasonable.

I used to take my car to that Good Guys down Little River Turnpike from there, but a mini-detail always took like 2 or 3 hours, and the rails scraped up the inside of my wheels. Most I've had to wait at WeCare is an hour, and I usually just leave it while I do some shopping at Home Depot so it's pretty convenient. They also seem to hand out a VIP $10 off coupon like candy.

Capitol Shine - Bethesda location (but there are multiple locations around the DC area). 30 bucks for a basic hand wash, but their methods for a paint safe wash seem more legit than some of the other places I've seen (scary), and they're usually done in an hour. Been using them for the winter only. The rest of the seasons, I take care myself since I have a full arsenal at home. Actually, my detail game is getting very strong. Ha.

Hey, thanks for recommending this. I couldn't find it at first because I remember taking my e46 to a car wash that used to be in that same building. They did a poor job, so I have been ignoring that building for quite some years.

after seeing that they're a different group, I gave them a try per your recommendation. I'm impressed, and for the price, I'm happy with it. no damage/scratches. I like the results.
